Dial-Up Access Settings: Windows 9x

  3. Under the "Configuration" tab, look for a "Dial-Up Adapter" component listed. If you see one "Dial-Up Adapter" component listed, continue to step 6.
  4. If you see an additional "Dial-Up Adapter #2 (VPN Support)" component listed:
    1. Select the "Dial-Up Adapter #2 (VPN Support)" component
    2. Click on

  5. If you do not see a "Dial-Up Adapter" component listed:

  2. Double click on "Adapter" from the component list.
  3. Select Microsoft from the "Manufacturers" list.
  4. Double click on "Dial-Up Adapter" from the "Network Adapters" list.

  5. Click "OK" twice.
  6. You will be asked to restart the computer. Click "Yes."
  1. Under the "Configuration" tab, look for a "TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter" component listed. If you see one "TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter" component listed, continue to step 9.
  2. If you see an additional "TCP/IPDial-Up Adapter #2 (VPN Support)" component listed:
    1. Select the "TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter #2 (VPN Support)" component listed
    2. Click on

  3. If you do not see a "TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter" component listed:
  1. Click on

  2. Double click on "Protocol" from the component list.
  3. Select Microsoft from the "Manufacturers" list.
  4. Double click on "TCP/IP" from the "Network Protocols" list.

  5. Click "OK" twice.
  6. You will be asked to restart the computer. Click "Yes."
  1. Under the "Configuration" tab, double click on the "TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter" component. If a "TCP/IP Properties Information" message opens, click "OK."
  2. Select the "IP Address" tab.
  3. "Obtain an IP address automatically" should be marked.

  4. Select the "DNS Configuration" tab.
  5. "Enable DNS" should be marked.
  6. In the "Host" field type "your username".
  7. In the "Domain" field type "midohio.net"
  8. In the first "DNS Server Search Order" field (with three dots) type "209.190.102.2" and then click on The set of numbers should appear in the field below. Back in the first field (with three dots), type "209.190.102.9" and click on again. The second set of numbers should also appear in the field below.

  9. Select the "WINS Configuration" tab.
  10. "Disable WINS Resolution" should be marked.

  11. Click "OK" twice.
  12. You will be asked to restart the computer. Click "Yes."
