Email Settings: Netscape Messenger 4.x

  1. Double click on If you do not see this icon on your desktop:

    1. Click on
    2. Select "Programs"
    3. Select "Netscape Communicator"
    4. Select "Netscape Messenger"

  2. Click on the "Edit" menu.
  3. Select the "Preferences" option.

  4. Under the "Mail & Newsgroups" category, select "Identity."
  5. Enter Your name and Email address.

  6. Select "Mail Servers" under the "Mail & Newsgroups" category.
  7. Under "Incoming Mail Servers," click

  8. Under the "General" tab, type mail.midohio.net in the "Server Name" field.
  9. Click on the "Server Type" drop-down menu, and select "POP3 Server"
  10. Enter your username in the "User Name" field
  11. If you want Netscape Messenger to remember your password, check the box beside "Remember password."
  12. Click "OK."

  13. Under "Outgoing Mail Server," type mail.midohio.net in the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" field.
  14. Enter your username in the "Outgoing mail server user name" field.

  15. Click "OK."

  16. Click on the toolbar and connect to the Internet to check for new messages.
